About Us & Site Map
This site has been set up to provide information in English about the Kyushu Diocese of the Anglican (Episcopalian) Church in Japan (Nihon Seikokai, Kyushu Kyoku). Nihon Seikokai consists of eleven dioceses, and is a member of the Anglican Communion, and adheres to the same fundamental principles.
Bishop Luke Kenichi Muto was officially installed as Bishop of Kyushu on Saturday, April 6th, 2013, following his consecration ceremony on December 1st, 2012. Bishop Gabriel Shoji Igarashi, having retired, is now Senior Chaplain at Rikkyo University.

Churches & Fellowship
Kyushu Diocese has a close partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Central Philippines, and volunteers from Kyushu as well as other dioceses take part in an annual Work Camp in the Philippines (see this pdf file, which gives a fairly complete account of the 2011 Work Camp). We also enjoy a good relationship with the Anglican Church in the Republic of Korea, and two vital members of our clergy have been sent to us by that church.
The ‘Churches in Kyushu’ page gives addresses and telephone data for all the Anglican churches in Kyushu. The Diocesan Office is located at St Paul's Church, Fukuoka - same address. Further information about the churches listed can be found by clicking sidebar links or links in the main table. This will be updated whenever possible. Immanuel Church, Kokura holds regular services in English as well as in Japanese (more details on the relevant page).
An update on the Kyushu Earthquakes has been made here.
